Galleon allows you to change the images that are used in the various apps by creating your own skins. Galleon ships with two skin files located in the skins directory: galleon.gln and tivo.gln A skin file is a zip file that includes all of the images and a special skin XML configuration file called skin.xml How to create your own skin:The easy way is to simply replace the images in the skin file:
The harder way is to change the configuration of the skin file to control how images are used for each app:
You can also create your own new skin file, but it is stil best to start with one of the skin files that comes with Galleon. The TiVo skin file contains MPG video files that are used as backgrounds. These are single frame MPG files and uses less memory on the recorder than image backgrounds. TiVo currently doesnt support animated backgrounds for HME apps. The TiVo HME SDK contains instructions on how to create these files. If you have made changes to the Galleon skin files and you want to keep those changes, make a copy of that file and give it another name. If you run the Galleon installation wizard, it will overwrite the shipped Galleon skins.
